Stony Cricker & The Wasp

During WW2, a Stony Creek periodical, the Stony Cricker, was sent to the troops with the latest news from the village front. This issue is about both the West Point Monument, and the sloop-o-war, The Wasp, a Revolutionary War era, and later War of 1812 fighting ship was a granite conveying ship for the Beattie quarry family . A Wasp exhibit is on display at the Stony Creek Museum and a portion of the helm wheel was recently donated by the Brainerd family. The other historical item, just as intriguing .. did Stony Creek granite grace the underpinnings of the Lincoln monument in London?
