Russell Homestead Barn
Southeast side of the Russell Homestead main house (now 188 Thimble Island Road), probably turn of the 20th century. Could be John H. Russell, and his father John Benton Russell. Credit Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library archives. The core of the current home is still framed in the original chestnut balloon, 2-story framing from granite foundation to the rafter support beams, each beam salvaged from an ancient barn.
Schooner Tom Beattie. Built in 1884 in Bath, Maine by the Beattie quarry family. Pictured here, probably in the late 1890s, sailing near Wheeler Island in the Thimble Islands.
